Up for sale is a Canon EF 135mm f/2 L lens in "brand new" condition. I used quotation marks here only because the day I got it in Oct, 2008, I opened it once to check everything and took a few pictures to make sure it's tack sharp. Then on the same day I put the lens back to the original package without touching it again ever since. Other than that, you can be assured it's no different from a brand new one at all. (maybe you could find a couple finger prints of mine on the hood if you're Sherlock Holmes..)
From the sample pictures I took, I can tell you this is a tack sharp copy, and focusing is dead on accurate and lightning fast, which lives up to all the nice words left on review forum here. Actually it's the sharpest lens I've ever seen. I bought it from a Hong Kong dealer on eBay (the product is made in Japan). So it has Canon International Warranty with it which is also 1 year. The date code is UW.
I'm asking $800 shipped to CON US. I accept money order, check (need to wait for clearance) and paypal. If you'd like to use paypal, we can split that 3% fee.
For those of you who would like to see the magic power of this lens, check this post on People Photography a while ago - https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/698151/0#6281841. That's the first day I got this lens. For those who need reference, I have an eBay ID "bertrose" since 2000 and have 100% positive feedback. So please buy with confidence.
I'm also interested in trading for a EF 24-105mm F/4 IS L lens in a similar condition, tack sharp wide open and free of any focusing issues (I heard there's some QC issue with this lens from copy to copy). Please let me know if you're interested.
Hi, Tom. I'm just another photography enthusiast, not a dealer at all. I bought this lens in the first place because I had a 15% coupon code from eBay which would expire soon. I didn't want to waste that and bought this lens. That's the whole story. So I bought it without any intention to use it myself.
I really love this lens from my brief experience with it. If I didn't have 5 lenses already in my lineup and a 70-200 to cover this range, I will for sure keep it.
I am interested in the 135L. Do you have the receipt and warranty card (has it been filled in and registered.) I'll do the $800 and can pay with either bank cashiers check or US Postal Service check. Located in New Jersey.
I can print out that ebay receipt for you. The international warranty card is as it was the day I got it, blank and not filled in.
