i found the text to be marginally easier to read on the d700 image. not sure if it's a difference in lens, sensor or focusing method/ shooting technique. if you look at the tag anti-perspirant, it's the "invisible solid" text.

Simon, the center af points were focused on the listerine bottle. IMO, the D700 has smoother 'grain' than the 1D3...
the 1DIII's WB is awesome here. The 5DII unsurprisingly shows the most details, as I see it, and the D700 has the least chroma noise. The 1DIII is somewhere between them, noise wise.
This is more to do about ACR than white balance. Calibrate the camera (5DM2) for ACR and it will be correct...or wait for Adobe to do it for you in a newer update.
If these were shot raw, which sounds like they were.
