It's been a great pleasure looking at all your beautiful posts. I'm very much a newbie, and would like some feedback on my new website. Free free to critique everything. A little history/info about me, I've shot about 15 weddings in the past and am the process of upgrading from nikon d80+d300+17-55+70-200 to 2xd700+24-70+70-200.
Overall, good site. Concise, promotes your work well, easy to navigate, the layout says photojournalistic (which your promote as your style), but classy.
Exception is the home page. It's bland and does not do the rest of your work (or the two cover photos) or the site justice. I think it's as simple as changing the plain white background. Try adding the gray border that's on the other pages? Simple does work there.
Also, your tag line of Wedding Photography is the same size as the copyright line and flash instructions. Separate and emphasize the important line and de-emphasize the legal/technical stuff.
One more critique would be the testimonials. You say you've shot 15, but have 4. Did the other folks not like you? (my first thought was, did he only do 4 weddings?) My point is, let the photographic work speak for you and offer references if requested. Testimonials and references are not that strong because who would post critical reviews or provide bad references.
Green in the logo is very 2008-2009 business and the site is clearly up to date. I think that's a good thing.
Yes, it is lucy from the bludomain's website.. it's one of the $100 sites. I hosted not with them, so they charge another $100. It is pretty easy to work with, but there are inherent limitations in the website, like the logo cannot be larger than a certain size and such. The more expensive websites (the $400 ones) have more features, which could make working with easier. Overall, I am very happy with the experience, blu-domain's setup time was lightning fast! Good luck.
