So if your looking for some of my work using special effects I got nothing, but a recent post in Best of 2008 got me thinking. Do you guys have either better google-fu than I do or have your own tutorials of some awesome power-ups; i.e. plasma balls, lighting crackles, aura's, fire hands, or anything like that?
i am pleased that you find inspiration in one of my shots. This is really a simple composite. The trick is finding the plasma balls that you lie the most. These are a combination of stock from iStock and some random desktop wallpapers I found at looroll.com i believe. There are also numerous techniques for building them your self in photoshop using custom built brushes.
The shooting requires a bit of planning mostly with the color of the gels to compliment the plasma colors. this shot had 2 rim lights for color accents and a 60" reflected umbrella for the main. Hope this helps and thanks again.
