besides all -ive's .... I ordered my first 3 albums from Graphi received 'em 2 days ago, have to say all of them look great, one more thing... I designed my own, so I just upload and they do rest of it, and regarding Graphi reps, well I receive emails from them regarding deals and when is the deadline, and I think that's all you need to know, I don't see a point calling reps all the time. But yeah when there's a quality Issue you have to contact them I think..... but again I never had that issue maybe because those were my first 3 albums so .. ehhh.... so far so good...
.....
Oh and any1 else having problem with Graphi software (MAC version)?

care to explain please .... I am not saying that because I think I am rite, I am saying that just to learn more from Pro like you , Oh and other thing, 99.99% of my work is from word of mouth from brides so I guess I am doing something rite here

Over the years being here at FM, I learn not to take things too seriously. We can type whatever it is we think people want to hear. I am not saying you are not a PRO as I am sure you are

Cool software for the price. Definitely will improve odds of album going to them.
Note to folks who want resizing.. using the select(A) tool, click on picture. Using the scale(S) tool, click and drag to the right to enlarge or to the left to reduce your image once inside a temple.
I wish the thumbnail export was 30% larger, but it will work pretty good with showit. I personally think they have made this complicated as far as ftp goes. I was kind of shocked that it was not built in. They definitely tricked things up a little so you could not run off with their stuff to another printer. I do like the round trip to photoshop routine. This was a little smoother than Page Gallery. THe templates are very much in sync with their published style books. You can just pick the look from these books and pull them right up in GraphiAlbum. VERY NICE.
I think if your studio is a Graphi client and you are willing to trade time for money when it comes to album design, you will find this toolset very capable.
When it comes to designing an album, this software hits right in the middle. So not a bad start really.
Top performers for me are:
Page Gallery (hooked to photoshop)(can roundtrip to photoshop)
Photoshop
Indesign (roundtrip photoshop)(
Lumapix (roundtrip photoshop)(kinda plain templates)
This Graphi tool costs $0. It does not require Photoshop.(Pros will use PS to finish their images prior to design) It can be learned in 2 evenings, mabe one. There are over 3000 templates I've found so far. Now don't get too excited. I still trying to determine how many templates are reflected per language. This tool is definitely an international tool. It will not do custom sizes, only Graphi sizes for obvious reasons. Overall, not a bad deal from an album design standpoint.
I've been hearing about Graphi's CustServ issues for over 4 years. So buyer beware as with any album company. Zook's books have that damn gutter. Miller's is a real contender as of this past summer. Album Inc is doing design now, so that may be an option for you. RTB has notorious CS issues but a very high quality product. There are others and more coming.

Playing a bit further, the template resizes the image along one axis to fit the template then doesn't allow you to shrink it further. You really need to do it 'their way' to get the software to work.
If it provided layered psd files for further tweaking in PS then I'd be really happy, some of their edge effects stretch VERY far into the image so you would have to shoot looser given that you can't tweak the edge.
Have you seen the slideshow? No way can I show that to a client!
Hi
I notice a few Mac users here - I'm currently windows - But I wanted to find out if anyone else has had issues 'send'ing the album - this is supposed to zip the files and album into a seperate folder. All I've found it do on two different machines is create a log file error.
I saw the demo of the software at a Graphi Seminar and was really impressed - after much delay and as other have said - this seems very buggy and little more than a Beta version - the old addage, you get what you pay for.....

Zook's gutter IS a problem. And I had their Reflections samples side-by-side to a Crystal Glance and every one has chosen Graphi. BOO!
Are you referring to the ZookBook or the older one (sorry but I don't recall the old books name)? I ask because the gutter in the ZookBook is not all that bad and is pretty standard as far as all of the books I've seen of resent (no Graphi experience). The gutter of the older Zook is huge.
I've had some reservations with Graphi also - mainly that they developed the old "blu syndrome". They became too big too fast.
I'm looking at gator skin Finao's - look really contemporary.
Also, I'm considerign ZookBinders for Flush mount albums in order to replace KISS. Main problem with KISS was that the brides I come across want cover options. I've been using ImageCapsule for softbound books (lay flat like flush mounts but without the weight and bulk).
Not to digress but I feel the Graphi 3x2 promotion was a bit of a scam. They knew you likely couldn't have all the files to them in those few days and if you didn't, oh well you're paying full price. Even if the order forms were in and they knew they were getting paid. I sent my rep an email calling them on their shit and they gave me till Dec. 14th. Graphi = car salesman They don't realize we're on the same team. They're happy to game their photographers with "promotions" like this.

I just got an e-mail from them today saying that I didn't get my third book to them in time... it couldn't have completed uploading more than 30 minutes past mid-night (eastern time). I was PISSED. We've got a call into BECKY. :|
I refuse to deal with than anymore. The whole thing was a scam anyway... announcing the 3x2 promotion the DAY AFTER the Christmas deadline for online orders. They knew that people wouldn't push to get anymore in without some sort of deal. It was sleezy. And it left those of us who DID place their order the DAY BEFORE out in the cold.
ok here is my latest complaint with these f-ups.... I placed an order 3 weeks ago with lets call it credit card A on the order form. They just called me and said they tried to process my order on credit card B which I havent used in 2 years with them since I closed that account 2 years ago.
Why the hell are they trying to use a credit card that was NOT on the damn order form.......GGGGRRRRRRR I wish they were in USA so I could go there and give them a piece of my mind.

They did the same with me. Not sure why they don't just double check the order form.

You should be okay then because the deal ended at midnight Pacific time from what I remember.

It's the new one. The gutter is a full 1/16", which is absurdly huge when compared to Graphi's. We use Zook and like the pages better but would love to get a Graphi-style gutter and cover. The gutter severely limits what you can have at the center of a spread. Don't ever put an important face/body over it.
We'd love to have a full photo cover front and back like the Crystal Glance.
