p.1 #1 · Problems with ZoomBrowser EX

Hey guys,
Just got a brand new 40D...went to install the software, and I continually get an error that says that "the zoombrowser EX memory card utility cannot be installed on this computer" The program also seems to be very unstable and fails quite a bit.

Anybody else have this problem? Did you find a fix?

Best Regards,

Andy

I didn't have any trouble... nor do I use that program for anything. I use lightroom for just about anything related to getting pictures off my camera & light adjustments.

What kind of computer/OS and did you install it from the disk that came with the camera?

You might want to try again. Might be a crook install. Uninstall the program then use a registry cleaner like CCleaner (free). Then go through you drive and delete any folder which looks like it came with Zoom Browser.

Reboot and reinstall. If that doesn't work then I don't know what else to try. I've never had a problem with it.

WIndows XP SP2. I have tried installing several times. It actually went in ok on my desktop w/ Win2000. And earlier versions of ZB worked on my laptop...only this one.

The cleaners do not clean
It still left a pile or dirty registry entries behind

run regedit.exe
HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

Go under software:
and remove all Canon-> Zoombrowser Ex
then re-install from CD then upgrade to the latest
