Of the folks here who work commercially, have any of you subscribed to AdBase to bolster your marketing efforts, particularly their email blast services?
As I see a lull in other areas of my business (damn you, financial sector meltdown!) it's time to ramp up my own marketing and transition away from more traditional comp card mailings and the like. I'm especially interested in whether people found their databases to be extensive and current, if email blasts were landing in people's blacklists with any regularity, if you saw a greater return than you might have from more-limited marketing efforts.
I've been using Adbase for a number of years now, first for promo mailings only and later, for email as well when they added that their offerings. I've found the lists to be comprehensive and accurate on the whole. On mailings I rarely get a returned piece. I like the way that lists can be send directly to Modern Postcard for fulfillment.
The email service works great with easy to understand, real-time feedback of what's been opened, clicked through, etc. The templates are clean and simple, or you can use your own html if you prefer. A small percentage don't make it due to recipient's changing attitudes towards email blasts. Rarely do I get an opt-out, so Adbase is doing their homework on that end. Email blasts on the whole, work quite well for me. YMMV of course.
Customer service is great and they respond well to suggestions.
There's also Agency Access, which some prefer. I think they offer a trial subscription to see how it works.
Personally I think either is a great bargain for all of the research you would need to do otherwise.
