I am building up to using Octa softbox with the 600rx strobe within. My question is I obviously would like to take advantage of the remote capabilities of skyport to be able to remotely change the power of the rx , but I'm invested in cyber sync. Can I some how use both cuber sync to trigger the rx and skyport to change rx settings. Would a "y" adapter leave both units functioning. One for power settings and one to trigger the strobe?
Also which skyport units would I need to just function the rx remotely to change power settings without reaching into the octa
May not be as reliable, but if you're in the studio you can get the skyport kit to control power on the 600rx, and then put slaves on your other packs.
I don't have Cybersyncs but I do have PWII's and Skyports. The RX600 uses a RX receiver which connects to the RX port for digital control . The PW and the CyberSyncs both attach to the mini-plug port on the RX600. I just tried it with a PW II and RX receiver plugged into a RX600 and they both seem to work fine together. I don't see why the CyberSync would be any different, other than they work around the same frequency range as the Skyport, which I believe is around 2.2Ghz. Maybe Paul can tell us if that is a potential interference problem. In any event you'll need a RX set, which includes a RX receiver and a Skyport transmitter, to control power/modeling light or a USB/RX kit if you want the extra USB receiver for computer control.
Thanks for the response and experimenting for me! Looks like I need an RX receiver and SP transmitter. I didn't realize that the SP attached to an RX port. The Octa and RX are on their way and the rest I already have. Will let you know but it might be a few weeks. I also have 2 600 s type heads but the RX head is what makes the Octa simple I hear?
