The "lights coming from both sides" effect is something I notice, but I'm not going to suggest you change it. It fits with your style and your style is a few steps away from "reality". I mean that as a compliment.
I like how you toned down the bright red of the fire truck, and composed so that it was driving right out of my monitor.
I asked an expert for his opinion (my 5 yr. old son who LOVES firetrucks)!
First he said, "Is that for real?" I told him you added some things with the computer and then he said, "It's AWESOME...I'm serious, Mama, it's awesome"! I asked him what he liked about it and his reply was simply, "Everything".
