p.1 #1 · Is the Canon 400 f2.8 and 500 f4.0 lens foot the same?

I am looking for an original Canon lens foot for my Canon 500mm f4.0 and can't seem to find one in the B&S forum or anywhere else for that matter. I was wondering if any other lenses use the same foot. Maybe I can expand my search. Anyone know?

It's probably a part, not an accessory, so you would need to order it through a camera repair shop. Alternatively, you could consider a replacement foot: http://reallyrightstuff.com/rrs/items.asp?Cc=LenCan500f4IS&iTpStatus=0&Tp=&Bc=

I just checked and the 400/2.8 IS is a different foot to the 500/4 IS. The 400 mounting plate is wider. Probably best just calling Canon and getting the part number to be 100% sure.
