p.1 #1 · Video cam and canon lenses

Has anyone here had any experience using Canon still telephoto lenses on a Canon Video camera? If so, which model of video camera and how were the results?

Thanks

I looked into this before. The multiplier tends to be so large that it goes from telephoto to super, super telephoto. If you aren't into this kind of shooting, they aren't that useful.

The "crop factor" on a XL1s is 7x! A 50mm has the FOV of a 350.

That would be killer for birding! 3500mm, baby! Put a 2X on there too.

There was an article around somewhere where during the olympics in utah. Someone borrowed a 1200 5.6L from canon and mounted it on a XL video camera with a 2x teleconverter... Comes out to 16,800.

You can use one of these adaptors and maintain the full field of view.
