p.1 #1 · Sigma 30/1.4 On a Nikon D700 (Question Answered - Thanks!)

Does the Sigma function as a DX lens (i.e. Cropped and lower resolution)? Thanks, Gordon

P.S. With your feedback in hand, I went ahead and ordered the Nikon 35/2 as my low light carry around lens. Thanks for your assistance!

ivé seen shots from a sigma 30mm on a FF camera. Pretty dark corners going on there since it's a DX lens. But the images look pretty arty farty to me. When i will get a FX camera, i will experiment a lot with this 'feature'. Dang... imagine how cool it is to get really burnt edges, straight out of camera

Anybody have some examples? I did a google search and couldn't find much. I'd love to see the look this produces on a full-frame

And you can control that burnt edge with some vignette control built right into the camera!

Instead of shooting in DX mode, pop it into 5:4 mode and you will only have slightly dark corners, which actually look nice sometimes and easily correctable.

I don't have any samples, but if you can't find any, I can take a couple shots of the neighbor's house if you wish.
