Thanks for these Tim, very impressive. Nice to see what that new camera is able to do in capable hands. Hope it can handle ducks out of the yak.

Nice, great detail and color. You're smart to get it together before going out to "need" the skills.

Thanks Robert! I don't know if smart is the correct word

Holy macaroni Tim Man ISO 2000 still holds all that detail! I'm impressed maaan!
1st shot has some really sweet light! like the last 2 w the lower angle a lot...specially when I look at the exif and realise what crappy light you had!
Heck I was complaining the other day at ISO 800 1/640s

Thanks a bunch Nello!! I wish more birds landing on a branch with the bg of the first one. That one is a bit steep, he landed there while I was down low

The light was low, that is why I was experimenting Stop your complaining ISO 800 is what I almost always used with the 40d One of the greenies we shot together was at 1000!! (just to freeze the guy)

These are pretty impressive given the conditions and settings used, Tim. So, what will you do if you're shooting in the shade on moment at ISO 2000 and in bright light the next moment? I would think you would max out the shutter speed in bright light at that setting and risk underexposing the next shot. Is the ISO accessable via an accessable button for quick adjustments on the 50D?

Zm

Thanks Ken. I really don't think I would be using 2000 and then have bright light but who knows Yes you can adjust the ISO without taking you eye from the veiw finder. Hit the ISO button and the details are displayed in the view finder. It is identical to the 40d in that sense. Did/do it regularly.

Really nice series Tim. After hearing a few negative reports on the 50D I was glad to see your excellent results here. Nice job.

I hear people saying all sorts of things about the 50d. Sometimes it makes you wonder.

Thanks Mark.

WOW Tim I told Tony just a short time ago that after seeing the 50D photos being posted I would stick with my 40D but you my friend have tilted my head another direction with these photos at these ISOs They are terriffic, great series.
Did you use any noise reduction or bluring for the BG.

That's nice of you to say Lou, thank you so much. Yes I did use NR on the bg's, one pass in CS3.
