p.1 #1 · An old bridge

The light was wonderfully dreary today in New Hampshire. I couldn't resist snapping off a couple of frames of these old bridge pylons I pass by at least once a week. Thanks for looking.

Hmmm....it's almost like there could have been more contrast or maybe you might think about cropping these down to create a stronger focal point. The treeline is a little bland/soft so the picture doesn't hit you like it could.

Might be interesting to see a close up of the pilings. Can't really tell what they are from this pic.

I can't increase contrast any further on this image without destroying detail, sans dodging / burning or other local contrast techniques. The "blandness" is due to the haziness of the day; your tastes might have been better suited by the color version. The stacks of rocks are exactly what they appear to be-- stacks of rocks. The pictures aren't really intended to be detailed photo essays of them.

I appreciate the fact that you took time to look and comment.

Try a conservative S-curve in a curves dialogue. I like the first one quite a bit, and I have no problem recognizing what the pylons are. I don't believe second one is as strong since we can't see the entire span (or where the span used to be).
