Merv I'm not sure if that was growth, it looked like the normal colour of the granite rocks. There were also green and yellow rocks but in places that were not so easily accessible.
Ashish & Simon, I tend to agree that they probably are oversaturated. I was trying to replicate the look of velvia, I might have gone overboard and my uncalibrated monitor didn't do me any favours. But this is only a first edit, I will print a couple of proofs and revise if necessary. This is the feedback I was looking for, much appreciated!
Santiago this was only a 24mm lens so I didnt think it would even have any distortion, but now that you mentioned it I am starting to see it in other photos as well. I'm definitely correcting it before printing.

had you crossed the Tasman you would have ended up in New Zealand. Bass Strait was the waterway you crossed. Named after George Bass who with his friend Mathew Flinders took off in a leaky dory and sailed around Tasmania thus proving that tassie is a separate island
