The bride and groom really liked the post on these. i did one just goofing around and when they saw it they wanted more in addition to the traditional post processeing.
The way I see it, sometimes they don't know what's best for them. Therefore, it is your job to gently guide them in the right direction. In my opinion, the pp can be really cool for the moment but how would they think of it a year from now.
Personally, I would leave it on #5, and that's it. For an event where you want to really capture a moment, faces, expressions, etc. the fill light PP treatment just doesn't work. On #5, however, it's a much more 'artistic' shot then anything else, and the PP really works.
I really like 4 the best and I think it works on 5 & 6. Not so much the first three. I personally wouldn't want something like this, but if they like it... It's just not my style.
I think it has an interesting illustration/storybook feel. Might work well for kids portraiture. I would agree about it becoming dated but your really doing it only for them. Not like it is a permanent part of your portfolio ya know?

was just about to post this. i must have had my crack for breakfast just like jeremy!
I like how it looks on some of the pictures. There sure is a big potential if you use it right and sparingly. I used the same technique on this picture here, but reduced the opacity for the bride so she still looks real.
I quite like them. I do some of these myself with Topaz Adjust. They can be nice background images in magazine style albums or you can get them done on canvas. I wouldn't do them INSTEAD of normal photographs, but as an additional novelty they work for me.
Pic #1 1st impression - that's a lot of chairs !!!
I quite like the effect in #1 & #5.
As long as it's in addition to the usual shots then why not - they're paying for them. As someone else said, #1 maybe nice toned down as a bg in a wedding book.

One of the butterflys that had just been released. (That one looks so odd that I'd clone it out. The others are easily recognized as butterflys, but that one could be mistaken for a bad case of melanoma.)
