I must say thanks for recommending the 105 2.5 Ai-S! Got it today, it rocks bigtime Sharp, nice bokeh.. just nice!
Now I just have to get myself a manual focus macro ai-s something and have even more fun :P
You're welcome I'm a big fan of that lens even on DX
Manual focus macro? Get the 55mm f/3.5 or the f/2.8. Should be able to get it for under $100. Get the PK13 extension tube if you want 1:1 repro (the 55 gives you 1:2).
I just bought a 24mm f2.8 AI lens off eBay. I'll post photos when I get it. I just wanted a lens that accepted filters for landscape work.
Thanks, i was looking at a 24mm f/2.8 AiS, but wanted to try the 24mm f/2.0 after seeing TWOK´s pictures from it. The bokeh is very special, although i doubt i can make the lens shine as good as TWOK does.
By luck i found one for sale and the seller also had the 50mm f/1.2 AiS, sometimes it's kinda hard finding old manual Nikkor here in Denmark.
I really like the 24mm f2.8 Ais. See my pic on page 2 of this thread. Haven't shot the f2.0 but it is probably only an advantage if you want to shot a lot of close up shallow dof shots. If you can get an f2.8 at a good price, go for it!
I've recently begun to use this little thing as a walkaround multi-purpose lens. The very small size makes the camera easy to handle, and it doesn't draw much attention. Still it gives spectacular sharpness already from f/2.8, and the close range limit is good enough for flowers and stuff.
My plan is to get a 50/2, 50/1.8 or 45/2.8 to make the kit more versatile. I've got plenty of good lenses, but only two small ones (28 and 105/2.5).
