totaly buzzed at getting the first shot of this jumping spider but yep i know i'm a fraction off a totally sharp eye shot but hay hoe....
The red fly had me going for a bit as its the first one i`ve ever seen, bonus bubble ftw
just a quick one, can you tell me if these pics look ok as i`ve just uninstalled photoshop cs2 for cs3 and i lost my monitor profile and i cant seem to get it right again....... I should get my monitor calibration kit through in the next few weeks and btw these pics were processed in lightroom, cheers guys.....
Shot with a Fuji Finepix s9600, canon 500d + raynox dcr250 and a handheld flash with a home made diffuser
great shots Lee, like fine to me.
diffuser looks like its working good.
heres a question, since your camera isnt slr, have you tried say f5 or f6. your f8 is equal to f22 on slr i believe for dof, would you get sharper shots like we do using f8-f11 on slrs ?
phil
Well what i notice on shots any lower the f8 on my camera is the dof becomes so narrow that i can only shoot subjects that are totally stationary and on a solid object, then i`ll only get the flies eye and everything else will be out of focus. The raynox is a 43mm lens were the fuji is a 58mm lens btw.....
What i really need to do is check out similar settings on a dslr to compare. When i used your camera last i kinda got lost in the feel of it instead of trying out settings which i wish i had of now
I`m not really sure i could get sharper shots with this cam tbh as the sensor blurrs the image at such high mag, its really not as pixel sharp as i would like it to be, noise really is a problem with this cam at these mags regardless of what reviews say about it....
