Mason just celebrated his first birthday. I took a series of shots in his parents' living room with an umbrella and softbox and he was not going to sit still, so I opted for shooting on the fly and letting the background land where it would. Then dropped the background on this one in favor of a gradient. I think it works (due to his bubbly personality!
Good job on the background replacement. But...there is a blob (chair?) beside his sounder on the image left.
My Simple Suggestion: crop to just above this (right below shoulder) to eliminate the "partial" hand and bottle and blob. The face and expression are the key elements and are 'strong' by themselves.
Still...the relatively light skin, open hand (thumb) and an "object" lead the eye down to the very bottom edge of the image and to the bottom right corner.
Cute kid. Lucky to have a nice photographer for a grandpa.
