p.1 #1 · It's butterfly season!

My Zilker Botanical Garden trips are numbered, but boy was the butterfly garden spunky yesterday. A bit breezy, but worth the challenge to capture these wonderfully colored butterflies.

All captured with a Canon EOS 30D, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro lens, and this DIY Ring-Flash.

Sweet shots, Roy. The queen butterfly ,golden digger wasp and portrait of the hedgehog fly are excellent compositions IMO. These were using your usual daylight shooting setup?

Thanks Kenny...yep using the DIY Ring-Flash, 580EX on manual 1/8th pwr. and most shots at 1/200th sec, ISO 125, and f/9.

really like the digger wasp & fly shot Roy, like the "glow " on #3 b fly wings.
