Wow really cool stuff one because there is a crap load of stuff jammed in there and the other i used to own a 17-85 myself so it's just cool knowing now what goes inside one of these.

I'd like to see a 70-200 2.8 IS next!

Better yet, send it to Canon and claim "I was just taking a few architectural shots when I ended up with THIS!"

Perhaps this was just a case of "Aperture Envy" where the lens felt inadequate compared to the aperture capabilities of the building..??

Nice job documenting the dissection... and you got a cool pencil holder to boot!
