This is a photo of one of the escalator area of the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, which is an enormous complex of high-end, to-the-trade-only interior designer showrooms - the sort of stuff that is only seen in "Architectural Digest". There is a huge blue glass building ("The Blue Whale") and a huge green glass building. Now, they are in the middle of building an equally enormous red building. You can see more about it here: http://www.pacificdesigncenter.com/ I did a bit of filtering to bring out some colors, but otherwise the fascinating design is exactly what is there.
Thanks, Mark! I appreciate your very kind comments and am really glad you like this. I'm humbled that you think every week my work is so good but really, there are times when I am rather disappointed in what I come up with. I rather like this one, though, so I'll have to work on doing something really bad next week.
All the best,
Endre

The pic itself is so beautiful it makes me want to cry. The thought of trying to top this makes me want to cry because of a very different reason…..
Thanks, Chad! I'm so glad you like it! No. one of the fortunate things about living in a big city like LA is that there are always a myriad of things to photograph. When I went to shoot this, I arrived after most of the design showrooms were closed for the day. I started setting my my equipment and just then the security guard - a nice older Italian man with a big handlebar mustache - came by and asked if i had gotten permission to photograph there since it was private property. I told him I hadn't but that I didn't know who I might have asked. Anyway, he took pity on me and just said, "Well, go ahead and take your shots. Just do it quickly." I thanked him profusely and was in and out in about 5 minutes. Of course, he didn't know me from Adam but I guess I don't look like a terrorist.
