Nice shots. I have a question the shot of the chef. Is that two lights behind at about 45 giving the cheekbone highlight (one on left one on right), and a softbox directly overhead for the catchlights? Just wondering if you can give a brief rundown of how that was lit. Softbox size included. Thanks
Bingo. Three light setup; rear lights being at "about" 45degree angles. The light to camera right is about mid-chest level high, and the light to camera left was up pretty high over his head angled down (just to give it a little visual variance). Nothing on the two sidelights but the 7" reflector. Front light was a medium size Alien Bee softbox lifted up high in front of the subject angled down (the same front setup as the other head shots up above). I think this was shot at f/8. Very simple three light setup.
I just wanted a little something different and add a little more dimension to the image. That was shot for a color glossy local "Best of 2008" arts magazine in my area.
Well I got one yesterday and tried it out on a Autumn morning
