Does JR charge your CC when you place the order or when it ships?

In today's climate, yes. I put my charges through when the Australian dollar was worth 84c US, knowing that it was starting to fall and could fall dramatically. It has. It's now worth 64c US, which is a ~25% difference. I'm glad the charge went through when it did, as I bought it at a price I was willing to pay. I'm not sure I would be willing to pay another AU $800 or so for it, as I would have to do now.
I got the same prob. I thought Henry Camera in Canada is only charge b4 shipping out the order. But it was charged yesterday, not even informing me. And they even dont know when they would have stock to ship it to me. Due to the CC security, normally, I set $1000 as maximum amount could be withdraw, and today, I got $50 for the overdrafting thing. BS.

They charge it when it ships. I ordered 2 mark2's from them a month ago and they have not charged my card. Make sure you make your purchase through www.live.com so you can get the 6% back!

Living in New York City, I just go pick it up. No shipping charges, but the 8.65% sales tax more than makes up for it.
Tomorrow I get a chance to play with it for a while at the Pro Photo Expo here in NYC. It's usually really crowed around the booth so I don't know how much time, or whether I'll be allowed to stick my CF card inside for some shots.
If Zeiss shows this year (I didn't check) I'll go to them as well.
I have to speak to Canon about why my ipf5100 doesn't seem to see my magenta cartridge recently. I hope it's the cartridge and not the printer.

I played with mark II for a moment last weekend at the toronto imaging show, but they still had a preproduction model and didn't allow anyone to put their own card in.

I just spoke to Adorama about my pre-order and they said they got the first batch of the cameras. Unfortunately even though I ordered the day after it was announced I'm in the second batch (107, maybe third) He was saying they got 50 of them on the first batch and normally they get 50 every other week but he was not certain that it would be same with this camera.
