I realize that with the 50D release, my 40D has become archaic ... but HEY, it still manages to take some decent pictures. I've had a monster peach crop this year ... but one pesky squirrel has been taking wayyyy more than his share of peaches. He's about 15' up in the tree and so I shot this while on top of a nearby eight foot ladder - more peach squirrel pictures.

I can think of so many mags/adverts in which this image would be especially useful - great shot, Alek.
Thanks for the compliment - guess I should slap a copyright on 'em - these are all crops from the originals which look awesome in full-rez, so HEY, send 'em to all your photo editor friends! ;-)
As soon as I read your title, I knew exactly who the "robber" was. We have a peach tree in our backyard and the squirrels looooove to gobble them up. The ones that fall to the ground often go to a host of other creatures as well.
Alek, nice shot do you have more sample pictures with that 55-250? thats a real sharp image at least to me...didnt know a non-L zoom lens was this sharp(jab jab lil eosfun there)..was thinking about that lens seems like a over looked gem...but did get an 8+ in the FM reviews

PS. Using a 40D, you should be ashamed...
Yea, as noted in my first post, I realize using such an archaic camera is a terrible thing ... ;-)

Ditto; sell that puppy
I haven't really marketed my images besides putting up an order a print page ... so please send it around to all your photo editors friends - I'll send you a dozen peaches as a commission! ;-)

The look on his little face is priceless - sprung big time.
Feed him some really nicely fermented fruit and see how smart he is
Yea, would be nice if the peaches fermented a bit, turned into cider, and gave Mr. Squirrel a big 'ol hangover so he wouldn't come back again. Here's a closeup of that little face for 'ya.

I also used it for these red-tailed hawk pictures (one attached below) ... too bad I haven't seen him flying around my peach tree to take out the squirrel! ;-)
Alec, I too looked into the lens and was discouraged by the reviews. I think I just made my mind up looking at your pictures. You have alot of useful information on your links. I agree with you about what would be a good upgrade for the 50d to have. Your pictures are awesome!!
Thanks for compliments digoer .... while I'm a gear-head and like to pixel peep as much as the next person, it's darn fun to just go out and take pictures! ;-)
