p.1 #1 · does it look fake?


Trying to add a little versatility to my all black backdrop with some photoshop textures and gradients. I look at it and say it seems to look real to me, but if it doesn't, please tell me!

Do you mean does it look like you used a real artificial background?

If that's the look you want, it looks fine. But remember that a studio setting is artificial to begin with, so what you're really trying to do is just to make one artificial setting look like a different artificial setting.

I like it. I would lighten it a little more as it's quite subdued now and almost distracting, IMHO.

Ahh - good point! Yes, I did mean does the artificial background look superimposed behind the person. I jsut wanted to see if anyone could see the 'cut out' look in it.

Adding some lighting effect to the background to simulate light falloff would help.
