You, sir, just proved my point. Sure it may not be for all, but many will find the feature useful (I know I will ... someday). But I can see how it could be argued that the Pro Photographer (selling photos) wouldn't need video, since selling videos wouldn't be as handy (and I suppose even that can be argued).

For those interested, the rough Japanese translation for this is, "There is something hidden in the far depths" It's written in a very poetic way.

I have owned a bunch of DSLRs with sensor cleaning, and none of them replace manual sensor cleaning. They slightly postpone it at best...

Ditto. This is how well in-camera, automatic sensor cleaning works:
Which is to say, not that well.
(To be fair, however - I switch lenses in the field frequently, shoot in very dusty environments on occasion and just recently ordered a wet-cleaning system - I'm hard on my equipment! Oh and no weather sealing on the body, just the lenses. So take the above image for whatever it's worth :P )

Not sure if it's been posted yet (Sorry if it has, But I'm not going to go through all 71 pages!) But it looks like September 17 is the announcement date for the 5D Replacement:

"Canon har försökt ”hypa” släppet av sin nya systemkamera. Med tal om evolution försöker du få upp intresset för vad som väntas vara efterträdaren till Eos 5D.
Nu har vi fått ett datum och för första gången visar Canons Svenska AB upp en ny kamera på det exakta klockslaget då nyheten släpps för morgontidiga journalister."
Canon has tried to hype the release of their new system camera. With talk of evolution, they try to get the interest up for what's expected to be the replacement of the Eos 5d.
We have gotten a date, and for the first time, swedish Canon shows the new camera to early rising journalists at the exact date and time of release.
This is the same source and credibility as the (correct) 50d rumor that they had. I think we can with quite a bit of certainty state that this camera will be here the 17. september at 06:00 swedish time. I guess I'll rise early and run over to sweden :P
Here is the latest rumor... Sep. 17th is the announcement date, and although the price is 2600€ in Europe, the price in the U.S. should be much lower, ~$2600.
* 24 Megapixel 24X36 CMOS sensor
* New battery, new grip
* DIGIC IV processor
* Magnesium alloy body
* Live view
* Video Mode
* Integrated Cleaning System
* Full compatibility with Canon EF and EX-series Speedlites
* Price : 2600€
* Official announcement : 17/09/2008
The astronomical version of the 50D... with mirror lock up (replaces the direct print button) and robust bulb mode that works with a traditional cable release...
When the 5D came out I was shooting 100% film so didn't pay much attention. Can anyone tell me what happened to the price of 5D when it was new on release, after a few months did the price fall?
Here in the UK for example the cost of a Nikon D700 has already fallen by around 10% since it was first released. Is it realistic to wonder if the same thing might happen to the 5D2?

I do not know either, how fast and low it went down.
But the suggested retailprice fom Canon was € 3.399 (body only) August 2005 in germany.
But after "Heise" it was already sold the same month for about just € 3000 (I am not sure if that is an averige calculation dealers and mailorder or just the lowest offered price - but I would guess 2nd): http://www.heise.de/preisvergleich/?phist=161861&age=2000
