has anyone noticed that the image on the "destined evolution" website has changed/ it looks like there is gradually more light on the camera...
bloody canon!!
They are building this camera up sooo much.
I'm sure there'll be so many disappointed people when the the announcement comes out.
Imagine they do this... in the next couple of days, announce this "destined evolution" body as a FF 50D, there'll be a lot of backlash, hate mail etc....
Then... the first day of PK... unveil an EOS 3D, 16.7mp FF, 5fps, compact body with PB-E2 style grip taking it to 7fps, true EOS 1V/3 style weather sealing, native 6400 ISO expandable to 256000 (256000 like 5D's 3200), dual memory slot for $3500USD
So, what would Jeff most like to see next from Canon? “It would be a dream come true for me if we could get a digital version of the EOS-1V. Who knows? The 5D isn’t quite it, but maybe the next version will be, a more robustly built body with, hopefully, two card slots for simultaneous in-camera back up of images.”
Canon could market it by saying... "we listen to our customers"
However, the teaser on the Canon UK site shows a different image, which does appear to have a popup flash, which is why some people think there must be two cameras coming.

I'm not exactly sure how this thread works, but it looks like I'm supposed to quote someone, spit out a bunch of nonsense, and then hope that nonsense makes someone else mad so they quote me? Well, let's give it a shot and quote Ralph since he looks like an easy target...
I don't know how stupid James is, but because they had IQ. Its success. Konika and Minolta where never interested in their customers needs. My issue is IQ. Canon is best in it. Nothing else. Punch babies. Eat kittens. "There is no problem!" If I would have been Canon I would have solved the problem, with my fist in a babies face. Canon never thought about. For steeling my customers time. People are customers. Nothing else. If japan would be japan like it was 50 years ago, there would be big boom. Today they just learned. You opened my eyes, to a cream surprise.

The teaser on the uk site doesen't have buttons, mode dial or anything else, I just suspect that it is an artist mockup, but yeah, it might indicate two cameras.

Compare, and tell me to which camera this "moondigger" EOS is most similar. What is in your eyes? Destined evolution...? Don't you guys still not get it? Some try to have EOSfun from too much phantasy. Ha det bra!
whatever it is ... not advisable to buy the first available cameras on sale. there will definitely be issues not resolved yet. history repeats itself over and over again.

Where there early adopter issues with the 30d, 40d, 1d, 1ds, 1d II, 1ds II... etc?
(I'm seriously asking, did not know that there where).

Ralph, you are pretty good at talking out of your ass Based on the photos on your site, I really don't think your images would do any worst if they were taken with a "old fashion" Nikon sensor. Perhaps you should rent a D3 and let us know if you have EOFFun
I edited my comment. Please reread.
Thanks for the compliment. Yes I am sure. Nikon tools will do the same for me.
And I already thaought about renting one (D3). Even its weight is a bit to much for walking around with it all day, it feels great in my hands! And I am with you. All my photographs could have been done with Nikon gear without doubt. And nobody would see a difference.
I do not like what I saw from alpha 900 till now. I do not like to see a noisy blue sky at ISO 100 shot with a pentax. I do not like my 30Ds banding issues at low light in Iso 1600/3200.
I do not like Nikons product politics (no problems with Canon though).
Anyway my 30D does a good job. But I have to upgrate. To at least 15-17 MP for my customers. And usable ISO 3200/6400 for my own projects. I can not purchase a 1Ds.
Its that easy. But I think I will be able to buy a 5D II. And it might give me the needs above. We will see.
If Nikon would have brought out a D3 with 15 MP in this quality (image and build) at the D700 price + € 300-500, I am sure I would have bought it. There would have been nothing compareable in the market (for me). But D700 shows, that D3 is overpriced. And the resolution does not fit my growing needs.
But of course my lenses keep me to Canon. And their product politics. There will be a 5D II with the specs mentioned above. I will purchase that and think it will give me the chance to do my job. At least its only a tool. Like a screwdriver.
To EOSfun:
Doing my job and my projects creates the EOSfun. Not the gear.

That I'm not sure of, but the sensor in the A700 was identical to the D300.
There was another A camera which had the D200 sensor. But in both cases where they have "the same sensor", the Sony results are inferior to the Nikon cameras because a sensor on its own is useless. The image processing and lots of other supporting systems make a huge difference to what comes out of the sensor.

It looks like a mixture. And smaller than a "1D". But that could be just seem like. Who the hell knows, what this lenses size is? They put together the xD range! And I guess its fully sealed. How it could resist in space else?
forgive me for my ignorance, but is this the longest thread in the history of FM? Internet?
the 5d head part is tall and narrow, like the nikons... i liked the usual broad design. ugh. if they did release 2 FF cameras, i hope they don't look the same.
Remebers my somehow to the shit I wrote (relative drunken) last night. I should stop drinking and and beeing a guide giving people a stimulation not to produce such horrible posts.
"... I would have solved the problem, with my fist in a babies face ..."
I hope my english is not so bad, that I am just not able to see that this post is NOT a cynic reaction on my own one.
I want to say sorry for any of my lapses. It will not happen again.

It really seems to combine elements from both. The area where the lens text would go seems also blacked out. A new lens?
The blackend area at the bottom goes up to quite exactly the point where it needs to go to cover any design elements of a grip.
If this means anything, then that it's a 3D. Or not?
