There was even talk of a KB 3. I hope it doesn't happen. Kill Bill was just too perfect to mess with.

I think Tarantino said he'd be interested in doing a Kill Bill 3 in 15-20 years or so when the kids in the movie are grown up. It would then be a second generation vendetta.

Well... most of the time I suppose. I think Godfather II was better than I.

Kill Bill II was actually not exactly a sequel. Tarantino set out to do just one Kill Bill movie, but the work expanded to the point when he decided to divide it into 2 parts rather than issue an overlong film, or cut it short. Maybe that is why you feel that it is better than a sequel...:-)

His next big movie is supposed to be "Inglorious Bastards". An over the top take on WWII rag tag group of US army men killing Nazis (bloody Kill Bill style).

There's also an old theory about all Tarantino movies being connected in some timeline.

X-Men 2 was not as good and Aliens and Alien are so vastly a different movie it's hard to compare. Alien was the ultimate gothic thriller set in space and Aliens is the still to this date the most intense roller coaster ride non-stop action thriller/horror/sci-fi ever IMO.

The significance of Canon having the full moon in their promo is to show what will happen to all the forum people... they will turn into man-eating monsters and tear each other apart, especially the Nikon and Canon folk.

We'll need to stock up on the silver bullets I think.

PS There's a full moon on Sep 15-16.

Since were off topic...

Potatoes make the dumplings light and airy while an amber lager beer lends richness to the chicken stew. Do not miss the variations. Turkey may be substituted for the chicken. The instructions may appear lengthy, but this is easy to make.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hours,
Ingredients:

* 1 pound medium baking potatoes, preferably russets, scrubbed
* 2 teaspoons salt
* 1/8 teaspoon grated nutmeg
* 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound), halved
* 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 1 pound)
* 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
* 2 Tablespoons canola or other vegetable oil
* 1 large onion, chopped
* 2 celery stalks, thinly sliced
* 2 medium carrots, thinly sliced
* 1 garlic clove, minced
* 1/3 cup plus 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
* One 12-ounce bottle beer, preferably an amber lager
* 2 teaspoons fresh thyme
* 2 teaspoons minced fresh sage
* 2 cups chicken stock
* 1 bay leaf
* 1 Tablespoon cornstarch

Preparation:
Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Add the potatoes and cook until tender when pierced with a fork, about 40 minutes. Drain and cool just until you can handle them. Slip the skins off with your fingers or a paring knife, then press the potates through a potato ricer into a large bowl. Stir in 1 teaspoon of the salt and the nutmeg, then set aside.

Season the chicken breasts and thighs with the remaining 1 teaspoon salt and the pepper. Heat a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Swirl in the oil, then add the chicken breasts to brown them, about a minute per side, turning them with tongs or a spatula. (If you shake the pan immediately after they have gone in, they will not stick.) Transfer the breasts to a platter and add the thighs to the pan. Brown them, about a minute per side, then transfer to the platter with the chicken breasts. Tent with foil to keep warm.

Add the onion, celery, and carrots to the pan. Cook until soft and fragrant, about 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Sprinkle the 1 tablespoon flour over the entire mixture; cook for 15 seconds, stirring constantly.

Whisk in the beer, scraping up any browned bits on the bottom of the pan; continue whisking until the mixture thickens, about a minute. Stir in the thyme and sage, then the stock and bay leaf. Let the sauce come to a simmer, then add the chicken breasts and thighs along with any accumulated juices. Cover, reduce the heat to low, and cook for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, gently stir the 1/3 cup flour and the cornstarch into the potatoes with a wooden spoon just until smooth. Do not beat.

Discard the bay leaf from the stew. Scoop up scant 1/4 cups of the potato mixture and lay them on top of the stew. Do not cover the stew completely with dumplings -- rather, let them sit like clouds on its surface. Cover and steam the dumplings for 10 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes, then serve.

Yield: 4 servings

Tastes best when watching a movie sequel and the moon is full

Yes, the EOSfun went out of it. Too much talk about movies, lunatics that keep talking about the moon, drunk people who believe it's allowed to have any fun here instead of having devotion to the EOSfun. Anyway, let's go back to the rumors. Else this thread is dead and won't make it to the 100 posts!

So let me add about the pricing. I gave you information about the price in another post. Some still believe the the next camera will get it's price at the same level as the original 5D. It won't happen.

Things have changed. Canon created a new market, the premium full frame D-SLR segment. They owned that segment for 2 years without any competition. Even then prices sank. You know why? Because 5D had very good sales and Canon 5D improved to very high levels of efficient productivity. The way they make that 5D sensor is very very innovative and effective. It's incredible. Chuck did tell you about the sensor innovations in some other places in the web. Anwyay, that's how they could lower their price gradually and constantly until the current level of 1500 euro (here in Europe).

Now that others have entered the market that Canon created they are going to fight about positions. Nikon and Sony can't compete at the same level of image quality so they chose features to set themselves apart. The next thing cameramanufacturers offering in this segment can do is, compete with pricing. Canon knows this too. Canon, in the knowledge they have the best sensor production technology for full frame will use this weapen. It will leave Sony and Nikon in the corner of manufacturers that have (lots of) nice features, but behind in image quality. Besides they don't have their full frame sensor production at the same level, so they won't earn as much on every unit, or they will sell a lot less of units when Canon decides to go lower in price. This is the way Canon will go. They have made clear enough when the original 5D was created they want it to be the full frame camera for the rest of us. And they will persist in making this segment bigger as it is very important for Canon being seen as the marketleader. This class, which is the class that avid amateurs and opinion leaders choose to buy. This is the camera for Philip Photo your nephew who knows everything about cameras and tells all his family and friends what brand has the latest the greates. His enthusiasm about the 5D leads to recommandations to friends and families to also buy a Canon. Of course most of them will buy the Powershots or a Rebel entry model. The next camera is very important for that effect, even if sales number stay below the 2% of the marketshare. Exactly like 1DsmkIII camera flagship is important as imagobooster. The next camera will however be a real price fighter with the best IQ in the full frame segment mark my words: it is really going to be EOSfun time!

PS. please try to keep it on the topic and not talk about movies, getting drunk or moontalk over several pages in response!
