Just got back from ordering a 5DII and my dealer said he expects the first 50D shipment the end of next week. Maybe this isn't news, I only read back a few pages. He has been accurate with his info/. for years.

My resellers had them in stock just before last weekend. Don't know about the US though.

This guy is an idiot. 320mm @ F5.6 and he's moaning about focus? The shot is fine after sharpening anyway.

wow, the price of the 50D dropped here by 200 euros even before they've become available. (1300-1100 euros already)

i wasn't planning on getting a 50D, but if the body gets to sub-1000 euros by spring, then i might have to see what all the hubub's about.

15MP, gapless photosites, micro-AF adjust. neato.

I don't know I was all set to buy one I had it on pre-order then decided to get a second body instead. So now I have two great camera's imo the 40 and 30D but the urge has struck again to buy the 50D. I am not worried about the AF as I think the 40D is just fine for me. When I had the 30D before this one I sold it to buy a 40D mainly for the larger LCD and I was happy I did. Now I am thinking darn it that LCD seems so great on the 50D along with the extra MP for cropping I have to have it

But now I have to re order it and sell my two camera's I have now

Hey Mike, ever thought about getting a 5D instead .... so you have one cropped sensor and one FF body? Wait another month or so and you might be able pick up a new 5D for a song.

Yes, noisy. But hell! This is in excellent focus. And looks to me as beeing a really fast motive.
