Have you checked into something like this for the edges of the plexi? It's used on the edges of car doors to protect them. It just slips on. I have seen it in rolls also.
We homeschool our three kids. Parker is 12, Peyton is 9 and Mabry (our only girl) is 4. So it was really important that we have a room for them. Eventually, when they're out of the elementary school age, it'll be a meeting room.
