Yeah no more rechargeables, he's having to redesign the power so the newest word is end of winter on availability. Something about needing a larger cell battery to keep up recycle times, it would have to be external.
I think that is a good thing make it lighter and smaller i would use a external battery most of the time anyways.
I do wish they would come out with them soon the Elinchrom Ranger Quadra is about to start shipping not as much power but i am going to need to invest very soon in something. We start having many sessions starting in March.
I have been waiting and hoping for soon...will wait as long as i can.
There will be no wine before it's time. There are physical limitations in how fast a product this complex can be brought to market. A copy cat product can be developed quickly, but successful innovation requires great attention to detail and decision making and refinement, unless you want junk,
Sounds well worth it. If you need someone to test these things on shoots as they are developed, I am just a few miles away and would gladly provide any constructive help possible. A serious and genuine offer.
I'm not Paul, but they offer a 60 day guarantee that they will take stuff back. So as far as I can tell you could do that as long as the Einsteins came out within 60 days.
Just getting this thread back in the game. I just checked out the Profoto D1 system, which kicks major booty except for 2 very serious design flaws (see the D1 thread on this), so the Einstein is still in the game for me to replace my current WL system. While I agree with many that the WL mount sucks, it seems it's been made stronger and the ability to use a bare SLA battery is amazing and overcomes the shortcoming of the mount. So as I sit, the current replacement options are the Einstein 1000, Profoto D1, Profoto Compact (which is only back in the game after playing with the D1). I read on a thread that the Einstein is slated to ship next month, so hopefully that'll stand as it looks like my WL's are going to sell sooner than I thought.
