p.1 #1 · Polarizer as a ND filter?

I'm in need a ND filter but, I think a Polarizer would be more useful over all. Does anyone have an idea of how many stops a Polarizer will cut the light? I have a Canon 5D that I picked up a couple months ago and have had issue in the Mid-day sun to get the appropriate sync speed with the flash.

you'll have to test it. PL's are somewhere between 1.33-2 stops.

it also depends on orientation as part of the polarizing effect is variable light reduction.
