Wonderful Osprey series, Pete! You got some amazing photos. The boat seems to have put you in great position. Where in the South Bay did you get the photos?
Thanks for the replies it really felt great to see these and be like oh wow I can post these. It's really about getting close. In the Great South bay in western suffolk (lindenhurst, copaige) there are manmade osprey nests everywhere. Just about every nest has occupants with at least 2 chicks which are all flying on their own now. There is nothing i know of that you can get to without a boat.
