p.1 #1 · Bird in flight

Hello! I am more of a sports shooter but a waterskiing session got canceled so I went out looking for targets of opportunity. These were taken from a boat with a 400 2.8 II at F5.
The boat was rocking and a rolling which made it more difficult then I would have imagined.
Comments are welcome.
1.) ISO 400 F5 SS 1250, AV EC +1/3

2.) Same as one but SS1600

Thanks for looking

Great images Bill. I like #2 that shows the surroundings. #1 shows great details except in the top part of the wind where the details are lost. It is worth trying recovering that in PP?

I like the first shot & hope you consider trying to recover some of the blown highlights in it.

Thanks for the comments. There are no highlights to recover. I tried both backing the exposure down and using the recovery slider in PS raw. I tried it again.

Any suggestions on how to bring it back?

Not much chance bringing the details out in the 1st one but I do like what you captured in the 2nd. Egrets are difficult to expose under most conditions but bright sunlight is the worst.

Thanks for your input Ken my lack of experience led me to the over exposure.

I will have to try it again some time soon.
