p.1 #1 · Feathers & Fur

I went into work early this morning and was able to see a lot of interesting critters and I was able to get some of these. I will post them from closest to home to closest to work. Comments and critiques are much appreciated.

A sparrow from our backyard:

A great blue heron from a hay field near my house (I tried to catch this one wading in a nearby pond, but he flew away to this field):

A doe and her two fawn near a creek on the road to work:

A different great blue heron wading in a river near my work:

A woodchuck in the field near where I park at work:

Love the deer family portrait. I think they were startled by your shutter sound. Nice details on the woodchucks coating but the lighting could have been better. Nice work.

I, too, like the deer family shot. A little too tight on the 1st one and the GBH shots just don't have enough subject isolation to make them appealing. Sill, always a great day when you get to put your lens on several species of birds, whether they turn out great or not

Hi Harsha,

Thanks for your comments. I like the deer photo the best too. The startled looks is actually very common from whitetails and they looked that way even before I took the first shot. I like the golden hour backlighting on the woodchuck, but I guess it isn't everyone's cup of tea. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment.

Best wishes,

Steve

Hi Ken,

Your comments on the birds are spot on. I don't really have a long enough lens for the GBH. I have been stalking them for awhile, but just can't get close enough. These are the best I could do, but I know I have a long way to go. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment.

Best wishes,

Steve
