So you did get your 500 after all...I was on a small vacation for the last week so I must've missed the event.
What a bummer about the MkII...well look on the bright side: the 500mm is a killer and you're smart enough to pack a back-up!

I did get the 500 and then promptly turned around and destroyed my camera I'm going out with the little XTi later today but it will be a challenge to get the same quality I get from the 1DIIn. I guess tha't all part of the fun, eh!
