It's going to be interesting to see the weight difference between a gripped 5DMKii and a 1-series.
Unless I missed it, there's nothing specified in the forum rules that says posting for reference is prohibited or discouraged. I know I don't come a'runnin' every time a subscribed thread of mine lights up. Sorry for your trouble, in any case. I hope you found something useful otherwise on the thread beyond my apparently selfish reference post.
Having both I can say that I like the 1Ds more. It has a nicer viewfinder, better build and better AF. Also it doesn't have any mirror clearing issues. On the other hand the 5D is lighter and has better high iso. I am an amateur so I actually like the noise of the 1Ds. Makes photos look less digital.
