I'd like to introduce the latest member of our family, Ciara. (Gaelic for "little black one") I do photoshoots every month at the local animal shelter for ads in the newspaper. Well, this little cat just wrapped me around her tiny paw. She is sporting the required scar of being neutered. (bald patch on the belly) No animals were hurt or even got wet during the shooting of this assignment...in case you wondered.
Edit to Changed linkage to photo to FM

Excellent shot! Great lighting!
Thanks for sharing the bg story, too!
(I, like gvarma, am wondering how you got your cat to sit still through the shot.)
Great entry,
~ Carrol
Thank you Carrol. It's like explaining a joke...it kinda spoils the fun. Just take the photo for what it is.

That IS a great shot. Is that a Bombay? Rich, pure black fur, muscular build, golden eyes, calm temperament. I yearn for a cat like that (but alas, we all have allergies).
Fantastic shot, Jim, my friend! I wish you'd share your secrets but I can understand why you won't. I'd certainly like to know how you got the water effect but it's isn't worth getting killed over. This will be a finalist if not a runaway 1'st place winner.
Thank you JD. I think you are correct on the breed. I definately see burmese in this cat, and that is the primary genetic contributor to the Bombay. Long legs...silky short hair, extreme intelligence, and vocal cats. This one has some of the sable coloring. Under direct sunlight you can see a chocolate tint to the seeming black fur.

Thanks for the wonderful comments, Endre. I don't do sarcasm very well, and edited the one comment - but it seems everyone saw it anyway. If you think about this shot - it really isn't that difficult. Maybe if I put it this way...you'all can figure it out. There was no possible way for the cat to get wet.
