I am now away for two weeks, so no new images, but here is a test with the mk4 : it's a 100% crop, please clic it for the full image in HD !
The non-cropped one looks much better but that is some amazing detail- you can see the texture of her skin UNDERNEATH the make-up.
well, I have to say you can see the same skin details with mk3 : they are both excellent cameras, the resolution advantage of the mk4 is very nice, but it is not a revolution
I have been very happy with mk3, mk4 sounds like "who, they did even better"

all beautiful kimonos, but it was way to crowded and hard to shoot (no move possible) ... one day I will do it properly, with time and space, light and background

voltaire > thanks too !
Otto > nope, this is 70-200 2.8 IS I at 150mm, I had not the 200 2.0 at the time ... anyway I could not move so not having the zoom would have been hard !
in fast I shot this kind of demons 4 years ago and did not get a good image, they are always very close to the wall behind them and on roofs so it was hard to find one that could give a good DOF effect !
I had to wait to get the 85II and found the above one to finaly get the image I wanted, I like the wave-like effect of the roof
sometimes you are very close to an image you like, but cannot make it, I try to accept that and keep it in mind, and try again after some time, to get what I imagined ... it happens a lot to me in Japan !
