p.1 #1 · Question

I will be shooting a wedding this weekend. I have done it before but I really want to know what your input is on this guys. During the ceremony do you place your self on anywhere you want to even if it means to block someones view to get that best shot? For instance while walking up and down the aisle, do you try to not get into peoples way?

Thanks,

Tom

Some wedding photographers think that they are more important than the ceremony itself, but I do not. I try very hard to not be a distraction to the guests or the couple... But, I do want that one tight center shot. So, typically during the ring exchange, I'll go about halfway down the isle with my 70-200, and get a few tight center shots of the couple. Then after just a minute or so, I try to gently glide back to the back. The rest of the time I'm shooting from the outer perimeter, mostly on the side opposite the bride so I can see her face. Also, remember the gust standing for both the entrance and exit. So you must position yourself in a way to have a clear shot even after they stand up.
