I guess I better get busy & get a Nikon - EOS adapter.
My 75 - 150 is collecting dust. Was my favorite lens, back in the day ... circa 1990. I originally, bought my D70s based on the fact that I still had this lens. Unfortunately, they don't play nice when it comes to metering ... I'd like to see how it shoots on a 1.25x crop.
In fact it does much much better on FX than it did on my old D200 (different sample though). Even less vignetting! Don't ask me how, but it could have something to do with the microlenses.
I just got this lens for free from an "internet friend" that I've never even met. It's really good, but I like my primes better because of the speed and better build quality.
Tomorrow I'll begin AI-converting an old Nikkor-H 85/1.8 that I have loaned from the same friend (yes, she knows about the conversion ). I can't wait to see how it'll perform on FX! We rarely see any samples from those.

Good night! (00:22 AM here)
Let me know how that lens is. I found one for practically free.

Grab it!
As much as I am a total gear whore, I really, really don't need another 85. I already have the 85/1.4D, but if I have a good reason to get it I will.

It's good, but I'd not get it if I had the 85/1.4 AF-D. I finished the AI conversion this afternoon and went out. It's really sharp in the middle at f/1.8, but the strong curvature of field makes the corners really soft if you shoot flat objects (but on the other hand, only freaks do that wide open). The bokeh is quite cool. Something inbetween the 105/2.5 and a fast 50 mm lens. Alot of character, but sometimes too harsh. Better closer up (as usual), but the MFD is 1 meter, which is as poor as my Samyang.
All these are wide open on D700 (edit: Nikkor-H 85/1.8):
I must say that it shines for being such an old lens! Definitely worth trying.
Edit: One more thing. This lens is one of the most easy to focus manually using the stock screen I've ever tried! On the other hand, the AF assist reliability is the opposite. Probably because of the rendering.
Rustybug,
Cool detail and colors in the flowers. I have been looking at a couple Mamiyas lately. Was yours an RZ or 645 or other? Any suggestions on adapters?
