That indeed looks great! How is the size on that compared to the 85 1.4 AF-D?
I'm not sure, but it is quite small for being such a fast lens. The filter thread is 72 mm and the rest of the lens is a bit smaller. The build is also better than I'd expected. The only major drawbacks I can see so far is that the focus ring is too stiff and that the shade fits poorly.
I decided to have a play with my new 1:2-1:1 elpro for the Leica 100/2.8 APO macro but the wind is blowing a gale outside and I quickly became frustrated. The DOF at 1:1 and f/2.8 is tiny!

And now for something unusual. The Samyang 85/1.4 on FF! Totally amazing performance wide open, with a character that very much resembles the Sigma 50/1.4 HSM, but at a longer FL
Take a closer look at the second shot. Where is the vignetting?!
Huh! Looks great, actually, from these and the plethora of other samples everywhere.
I just looked and it seems that even Adorama is selling it under the Vivitar Series 1 name? I wish it didn't have those horrible red accents but I might go check it out in-store next week. http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?op=searchresults&searchinfo=VV8514

If you've got more samples I'd love to see them.
It's probably the same lens with a different name. I haven't used it much yet, but I hope to take it out "for real" tomorrow. Too bad with the 1 meter MFD, but I'll bring a short tube.

Looks like poor man Canon L :-) Are there any reviews available? For 350 it looks tempting.
Pixel Perfect
nice and beautiful shots of the Zeiss and the Sigma 150mm macro. I think I have to use that lens again. Did not take it with me on my vacation in the Philippines, since the Sigma is rather heavy.
Took the OM f/2 90mm macro instead.
