His name is Troll and he certainly is getting a belly rub! But to MF that with one hand available for camera and lens is not easy so I had to retort to the AF function of the lens, unfortunately.
When it comes to the 50s AF issues, it seemed that my 5D had a serious misalignment in the mirror box, (not unlikely from too many Rokkor hits which Canon fixed for me. When it got fixed, my Sigma was front focusing, and I didnt do anything more about it, as I was anyway waiting for the 5D2 with focus adjustment. And now - no problem. I am not so sure my Sigma really had a big AF problem after seeing the issues with the 5D, which also showed up shooting with the 85L.
These were taken early December, and I am 95% sure they were taken with the Rokkor, as itīs the only lens I use for this kind of casual shooting - but I am not 100% sure as I seem to have forgotten to mark them... Minimum 95% sure though...
Hahaha! Well, I just use my rokkor and the 50 1.4 :P So if I can get a mb-d10 + a lensbaby composer for the 50 1.2 (the way the prices are now, that just might be it), I'm happy :P
Too bad I can't post 85 1.4 images here They would fit the blur-topic well :P

Interesting composition.. which lens is this...
The lens is a Promaster 28-105mm/F:4-5.6...don't know who makes it...I picked it up at a pawn shop and at first it didn't auto-focus to infinity...I guess it hadn't been used in a while....I've used it a lot to see if it would loosen up...and I guess that's all it needed....I've promised it to my wife's son if he upgrades from his PnS to a Canon as he hopes to...

I wish, thanks....see above post....
...this shot is about 50% of the full frame....I suspect, that at this size, any decent lens shooting soft stuff like this subject would resolve reasonably well...bear in mind that this is an EF lens not an EF-S lens so the edge resolution (likely as not, not particulary sharp) is outside the 1.6x cropped sensor...
I think the second one is interesting for what it shows about the lens, the 50/1.0L. Look at the row of clothes dryers in the background. I am assuming that they are reasonably parallel to the camera. Look at how much more out of focus the center dryer is. That is some obvious curvature of field. I'm not sure if was intentional, but this curvature is used to good effect.

Great shots thrice! Great use of fast lenses
lol, not my shots, they're cm81's... I knew that would happen. As much as I'd like to take credit for them... I was just reposting cos his links didn't work, see the post above mine.
