Wow, the sharpness, DoF falloff and Bokeh are just amazing. Gorgeous colors, love how you framed it all too!

whoops, the $40 one cctv lens
( i also modified it to be able to go further away from the sensor to do more macro then what it could do originally)

looks like this, just a random auction i grabbed off of ebay

HOLY #$%& WOW!

Duuuuuuude. I've only ever seen 1 Great Horned in my life, and for a brief moment when driving a work truck through a back-lot on a golf course I worked on years ago. I spend a good amount of time, out of doors during the summer. I have seen many a rare species, but the fact that you caught a GHO on camera... truly impressive.

p.s. this makes me horribly jealous now, because I've been trying to take a pic of the two racoons that occasionally roost in the oak behind my place, and they have evaded me several times now.

Sad part I only had my G1 and FD 85L attached. I couldn't get any closer as I had my dog on leash with me and she wouldn't stay put she wanted to continue and track the deer. I have seen them a few times in Fish Creek this was only the 2nd time I was able to photograph. The most memorable without camera was several years ago at twilight when two of them glided about two feet over my head that was an awesome experience seeing them full wing span and hearing the sounds as they glided over, then landing on a tree in front of me.

sounds like a great deal. bokeh looks pretty good and i've certainly seen worse vignetting. how is it sharpness wise?

Kahren, is there no brand name at all printed on that lens? I also wonder if it covers the sensor. The image look like a 16:9 format image. Are the corners all black in 4:3 format?

Edit: FUJIAN CHINA, TV LENS GDS-25, is that what is it says on it?

sharpness is not the best, but i haven't really used anything else m43 wise, except an ep-1 with oly 17mm 2.8 which was sharper. this ebay lens is also not that great for farther objects.

Thank you for elaborating. The first image was indeed shot in 3:2 format. I wonder if the swirly bokeh will be tiresome in a short time... I have a Pentax CCTV lens, also 25/1.4, and I sometimes use at pubs and such places. An OK party lens, not that good for anything else. Some of these lenses render the background better than the in focus parts, lol.

regards,

/Jonas

A bit offtopic, but as far as I know owls don't make any sound when flying (that makes them so successful hunters). Nevertheless, great experience!

Sorry these are near MFD, but that's 1m so no biggie

f/1.5 50mm wide open. Not bad for a 70+ year old lens design.

More impressive considering the lens is the size of a golfball

Thrice: EXIF data says 2.8 for the first pic and 1.7 for the second.

That all depends on if they are gliding, or flapping their stubby wings to support their relatively fat body. I have experienced both
