Think I mentioned in a previous post on this hoverfly that the male does rather nice territorial hovering- keeping it's air space clear of any other flying insects. Last shot is a composit of two shots.

Ian - no - I haven't got a lot of patience - these hoverflies do really nice territirial hovering - always returning to the same spot after chasing off intruders.
