This is the only time I've ever noticed the 65/4 vignette, or do anything even remotely not perfect. But I like it.
Also liking Flickr's new 640px size.
Yeah, I've been having a problem scanning it well...I think it can do fine with people, I just have to learn how to scan it. Maybe I'll stick to black and white
Pat, don't succumb to the Ektar hype (not that it doesn't deserve most of it). You shoot a lot of models. Try Portra. I might suggest Portra 160VC for a bit more in the color department, but still nice skin tones. I find it TONS easier to scan than Ektar in terms of getting the right color.

Ditto, Ektar's at its best when used like a slide film (it really resembles E100VS in look). 160VC's the way to go for shooting people.

Luna, I like the colors in that first picture.

Thanks, I've tried 160NC and wasn't too happy with it (although when I tried it, I REALLY didn't know what I was doing in the scanning department). I'll try some of the VC and see what happens.
Ektar is a bit rough on the skin tones in my experience. It pushes them into the reds very easily. Kodak's old UltraColor 100 was much better in that regard IMO. You can work with it, but you've just got to be a bit careful in the scan. Portra 160VC is much easier to work with if you want color with punch while keeping skin tones pleasing. You might also consider Fuji's Pro 160S or Reala if you can find it. Skin tones are very pleasing on these films too.
I'm still not clear as to Fuji's position on their color negative films though. They've discontinued all their professional color neg except Pro400H, but I've also read that they are replacing the 160 films.

They're renaming one of the 160 films (IIRC it's 160S, becoming 160NS) and dropping the other. The Pro 160's were always too similar, unlike the Portra NC and VC line.
