Thanks Gary and Nate. That's a shot I've wanted to execute for some time and I was very happy with the outcome when the film came back.
Nate, your first shot looks like it was taken in a very weird movie theater. I like it.
I've got a dozen or so frozen rolls of Provia 400F sitting around that I need to use. They came from the same batch as my E100GX and E320T which was frozen since purchase, so they should be excellent when I get around to using them. I just tend to go for color neg at that speed....Show more →
This batch of Provia 400 was supposedly frozen too, but it is just horrible. I gave the rest of it away to a friend who likes to x-pro and what not.
I've shot the E320T and E100GX from that frozen batch and both were great and are still in my freezer. Hopefully I'll find the 400F in the same state. Its just that I tend towards color neg when I've got to shoot at 400 or higher and I haven't tried the 400F yet. I can't really think many situations where I need 400 speed and daylight balance. Its also a bit easier for me to correct white balance in color negative for some reason. Anyways, both are interesting shots even if the film isn't quite right.
I'm just learning how to use that camera, got it three days ago, this was my second roll of fiilm..
So far I really like the results, even though it's hard to nail focus at certain situations.
One dissapointment is the relative long mfd of 1 meter, would have loved to get a little bit closer for portraits.
Here is one more of the same girl:
(sorry for the bad scan, bad scanner at the photostore)
And I guess I didn't post this here. I recently got a pair of Tominon macro lenses for my 4X5. I haven't been brave enough to try the 50mm, but I got this with the 75 at roughly 2:1 on Velvia 100F, f32, 2 minutes.
