Interesting idea and possibilities but I, too, will have to wait to see if the prices come down some. I'm already wasting enough on 4X5 film and accessories. I do, however, already have an old polaroid back that came with a Crown Graphic, my first LF camera.
These were posted in the B&W forum as it seemed the right place.
If I already posted these here, let me know! I have many from this collection.
This is just a small selection of 50+ images from the "lost negatives"
Back story. I "lost" these negatives for 25+ years & just found them last month.
Many of the images haven't been seen since I looked through the lens in 1969
in Viet Nam
These were taken with a Topcon RE Super w/50mm f1.4. (still have)
Either Tri-x or Plus X, base hobby shop developed.
Just a simple clean up & scanned recently

arbib - Those are standout shots from the 40's! The photos look amazing for the age of the negatives. What a slice of history and a treat for the eyes! Thank you for sharing.
Daniel - What Kevin said, do you have any more of these? I too can look at these all days. From the old school beer can(s) to the children's faces in the streets. These are lovely shots. They make me ponder what Vietnam would be like if we were never there.
Nicholas - Those images are alive with texture and color. They just POP right out of the screen! I have a 5 pack of Ektar 100 making my way sometime next week. I haven't shot with Ektar yet, but I'm stoked after seeing your shots! Shots #1 & #5 really stand out for me.
Huss - Wonderful shot and colors! I'm curious as to what's going on inside the head of the man in the background. HAHA!
I just received my first two rolls of Neopan Acros 100 back from PhotoVisions. I used the 67II (received about a week ago) with the 105/2.4 and orange filter. I see lots of contrast and detail. I'm eager to shoot more of it after I get my cameras back from CLA.
nicoimages,
Love those Mamiya 6 shots! I have the 7, just wish the lenses were compatible.
Alpa_Geist. I will look through & pick some more. Just don't want post some I already did
I'm afraid we just continued the misery what with the Japanese in WWII & later the French. I was really drawn to the children & have many shots that are both full of joy & toil.
From a leisurely hike on Sunday. Took my time at my local state park capturing scenes I have yet to shoot. Makes for an interesting day as I have shot here almost weekly for 7 years and shot the "highlights" in every season with every imaginable comp. Time for something different which required some off trail hiking. Nikon FM, Nikon series e 28/2.8 w/ yellow filter, kentmere 100, hc110 dil h at 12:45m, pakon scan, lr5

Sierra College?! You drive right past me on your way to/from. I am off the Riverside exit...
Yup! :P
I'm taking a Saturday photo class there to learn film development and darkroom printing. I want to start developing on my own and not rely on photo labs. All the other fine art photo classes at the other colleges were either booked or conflicted with my work schedule.
It's pretty fun so far and the Sierra College Campus is pretty clean and spacious. The air smells better there than in the city.
I'm down for some drink'n, shooting and chewing the fat on Sarurdays if you're up to it.
