A couple more with the XA4. The first one is pretty blurry but IMHO shows the magic of film, blurry photos on digital are never keepers but on film even these kinds of flaws have charm
From a nearby flight museum. Mamiya C220 w/flash, Acros 100 souped in Rodinal 1+50. Please excuse the clutter and the barricades, it's just the way this museum operates.
one thing I like about shooting film is there's no pressure on quickly wanting to view the pictures, some shots that I finally was motivated enough to develop
@ryankarr and taemo:
Since you're both from Calgary, can you guys recommend a place in the city to get color film (120 C-41) developed? When I lived in Europe I had a ton of spots that did a quick, cheap and good job. Getting those 3 together here in yyc seems impossible... :/

There's Vistek that develops 120 C-41 locally but their turn-around has been terrible lately from what I heard.
What I used to use and ryankarr might still be using is London Drugs, they process 35mm C-41 locally but for 120, they mail it to Vancouver (Custom Color Lab) at no extra cost.
I prefer dropping my rolls at the Mount Royal LD (15th ave/8st SW) as it's the main store, if I drop it off on a Friday, I usually have it back the next Friday.
I'm developing my own 35mm, 120 and 4x5 C-41 at home now
Thanks
Yeah, been at Vistek once last winter, rolls came back really dusty, scratched and with fingerprints. On top of that, they increased their prices around that time. Can't remember or find them online, but it was well over $10 per roll (dev only).
LD is what I've been doing too (only two times tho, I don't shoot a lot of color film. Definitely not enough to start my own developing), the Mount Royal LD is 2 blocks away from my place. First time was almost a 3 week wait, second one around a week indeed, that 3 weeks was why I was wondering if there's anything faster, but maybe it was just bad luck and they were really backed up then. Guess I'll stick with them then. At least they come back looking okay and I can almost throw the rolls to them from my window
thanks man! your portraits are awesome too.
I'm hoping to do more LF portraits down the road, just need to get used to it more first.
once I have enough experience developing C-41 at home, I woudn't mind doing it for others.
I can usually develop 12 120 rolls with a $25 C-41 press kit from B&H (excluding shipping and tax)
brings my cost down from $10 a roll to $4
